According to data from Quality Planning Corporation, a California based company that helps insurance companies rate drivers, students, medical doctors, lawyers and real estate agents are among the most crash-prone occupations.
The QPC survey ranked 40 different occupations. The company looked at data collected by insurance companies on 1 million drivers.
Distractions come from different occurrences, whether electronic or otherwise, are dangerous when driving. The study reveals the 10 most dangerous professions for drivers, and many are clearly multitaskers.

Students get in more car wrecks than those in any other occupation due to their inexperience on the roads, good for them that a doctor is likely to be at the scene; since medical doctors rank second in accident rates. Cell phone use, especially texting are leading causes among doctors, lawyers and real estate agents.

Cell phone usage continues to climb everyday, while drivers continue to multitask putting themselves and others at risk on the road. In the meantime, the government at city, state and national levels are active getting laws passed to try and stop multitasking while driving.

Not all distractions lead to bad drivers;

Homemakers, who usually have many things going on in the back seats with young children have the best driving records. Others include Politician‘s, Pilots, Fireman, and Farmers

Insurance companies do not generally base the premiums they charge on occupation.

Insurance companies have to provide rationalization for premiums to state regulators and it is difficult to prove that just because a person works in a certain profession they are more liable than another.
